Jim Sambold : Vice President

I have been a car guy since birth, having grown up around a 1956 XK140 MC OTS, which my father purchased new and I still have the privilege to own today. My love and appreciation for cars, especially Jaguar, expanded with the purchase of a well-worn 1963 3.8 E-Type OTS at the age of 15, then a 1966 4.2 E-Type FHC at 17, followed by a 1959 3.4 XK150S OTS at 27, which, after a nine-year restoration would become a national JCNA Concours Class 4 Champion several times. As an entrepreneur in the photo imaging industry for 30 years, my collection of Jaguars increased at one point to a total of nine different variants within the Jaguar line, complemented by an extensive collection of Jaguar ephemera and memorabilia. This diversity of collection enabled me, as a member of my local club for 35 years, to support JCNA, to share my knowledge as a Concours Judge for 34 years and a Concours Chief Judge for a total of 16 years, and to serve as club President for five years. My current career in marketing and advertising, combined with my experience as a Rotarian with Rotary grants both domestic and international, allowed a transition to working at the JCNA level as Concours Committee Chair, and with the Coventry Foundation, supporting grant and fundraising opportunities that are dedicated to the historical preservation of the marque and related materials.
