Michael Mueller - Foundation Staff

I was born August 6, 1958 in Cumberland, RI. I learned mechanical skills from my father who was a Roadway express truck driver. I played college football and basketball which helped my acceptance into the Univ. of Vermont school of medicine. Surgery came natural after spending years as a mechanic which I continued during medical school, which included finishing a restoration on a 1967 XKE roadster during my senior year. Next was a fellowship at Parkland hospital in Dallas in cardio-thoracic surgery, including heart and lung transplantation. I spent 6 months at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia learning pediatric heart surgery including pediatric heart and lung transplant before moving to Austin, Texas where I performed heart and lung surgery for 20 years before finally retiring in 2014. My interest in Jaguars started with the purchase of a 1969 XKE coupe in 1982 and during my fellowships and time spent in Austin Texas, and I’ve has been collecting Jaguars and parts ever since, resulting in 40,000 square feet of cars and parts. Thanks to my wife and daughter who have been very patient with this addiction over the years.
