Smoky Mountain Jaguar Club Donation

We have just completed the transfer to the Coventry Foundation from the Smoky Mountain Jaguar Club, of their entire library. Below is the actual e mail communication between our own George Camp, and Cyrus Taft who is the SMJC Librarian. As you can see, the SMJC goal like that of the foundation is to preserve the collection for use by current and future Jaguar enthusiasts. We at the foundation appreciate the trust that SMJC has in our ability to house and share their prized library. Included with this news item are a few pictures of the actual transfer of merchandise between SMJC and the foundation.

“George,

Julia and I enjoyed meeting you also. Thanks for making the transfer to your van so quick and easy.

Our club library was called The Don Horst and Bill Bost Memorial Library in recognition of the two club members who initially donated the books and other materials which started it. I will have to verify the dates for those initial contributions but it was around 2004-2005 I think.   About 3-4 years ago Harper Jaguar was moving to a new building and cleaning out the old ones. They generously offered to give the club many of their older manuals including service manuals, model updates, electrical guides, technical bulletins, new model technical descriptions, parts books, and many more.

I hope the Coventry Foundation can preserve this collection for current and future Jaguar enthusiasts.

Best regards,

Cyrus Taft

SMJC Librarian”
