Pennsylvania College of Technology Update 2020

On September 14th , Gary Hagopian received official notification from the college that the Coventry Foundation’s 4th scholarship was recently awarded. The student is Allison Hoch of Oley, Pa. The award is
for her second year in the restoration program which is the school year 2020/2021. Funds for this award were provided by the North Georgia Jaguar Club in honor of the years of service to the club by John Hoffman. This is our 4th scholarship award to a student at the college.

With many things shut down because of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is good to see some things moving forward carefully. The students are now back in class and continuing their studies, and I thought it would be good to update everyone on what is happening with regard to our relationship there. First let me mention that earlier this year, I was at the Amelia Island Concours with Foundation Board Member Craig Kerins and Patron Mike Tranovich, where I met Roy Klinger from the college and a group of students who were showing a car from the Swigart museum. The car was great and I was able to spend a good amount of time talking with one of the students, Riley Mull. Talking with her was very refreshing, there is a next generation! She is enthusiastic, and extremely proud of the work completed on the car
they were showing.

In other news from the college, work on the Foundation S3 E-type coupe is progressing. You may remember that last year Gary Hagopian and I delivered the car to the school for some needed repairs. With the students back in class, one has been assigned to continue the mechanical work that was started last school year. They are currently working on the cooling system, finishing some electrical work, and starting on the fuel system. George Camp has been keeping them in stock on whatever parts are needed for this project. Last year, George sent the needed brake system parts, and this year he has already sent a rebuilt radiator and alternator, with other needed parts on the way.

As a final note, I should mention that the status of the restoration program at the college is currently under review by the Dean. As we hear more news about the future of the restoration program, we will update everyone here.
