Luke Miller Bio for Coventry Foundation

I am enrolled in Pennsylvania College of Technology, completing the Automotive Restoration Technology Major with plans to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology Management.

As a teenager, I developed an interest in classic cars after my Dad brought home a 60’s Austin Healey Sprite. As I grew up I researched the car, and I discovered information about the car that interested me. I learned that it had a 1968 dash, even though I was told the car was a 67. I then became fascinated with all of the different models, colors, wheels, and designs. I studied how the cars are modified into in racing cars for hill climbs and road racing, and began to tinker on the car, removing the windshield to imitate a racecar and driving around the yard and driveway. Engaging with people, telling the story of the Austin Healey Sprite inspires me to want to continue my studies and enhance my skills.

My personal goal is to expand my opportunities from driving a little Austin Healey around my yard to learning more about the history of all automobiles and the industry. I am now able to study the art of repair and fabrication so one day I will be able to race that Healey, or restore a Jaguar of my own.

My experiences with internships and hands-on projects will expand my skills as a professional restoration technician. I aspire eventually to own my own business where I can research and restore customer vehicles and develop a reputation of excellence.
